Basketball Recap: Tuba City Skates Past Pinon with Ease

Tuba City won the last time they faced Pinon and things went their way on Friday too. The Tuba City Warriors simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Pinon Eagles 74-45. That 29 point margin sets a new team best for the Warriors this season.

Tuba City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Tsinnie, who posted 13 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Deiondre Whiterock, who earned eight points and 12 rebounds.

Tuba City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

The victory got Tuba City back to even at 4-4. As for Pinon, they moved to 5-4 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Tuba City will venture away from home to take on Snowflake at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tuba City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season. As for Pinon, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Music Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Music Mountain knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Pinon likes a good challenge.
