Softball Game Preview: Red Oak Hawks vs. Midlothian Panthers

Red Oak hasn't had much luck against Midlothian recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Hawks will face off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Red Oak took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Kaufman as they made off with a 20-5 win. Considering the Hawks have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Midlothian waltzed into their contest on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Lions by a score of 4-1.

Abby Insley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aniyah Givens, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Midlothian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in seven consecutive matchups.

Red Oak's record now sits at 7-12. As for Midlothian, their record is now 18-9-2.

Red Oak suffered a grim 10-3 defeat to Midlothian in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
