Basketball Recap: Grundy Takes a Loss

Grundy entered their contest against Ridgeview on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Golden Wave fell 60-48 to the Wolfpack. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolfpack this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-59 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Grundy lost, don't look at Ethan McClanahan. Despite the final result, he shot 43% from the field en route to 25 points and three steals. The matchup was McClanahan's 17th in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Logan Fuller, who went 5-for-8 on his way to 11 points.

The loss was their first at home, dropping their record down to 7-10. As for Ridgeview, their victory bumped their record up to 4-12.

Coming up, Grundy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Council at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ridgeview, they will head out to face off against John Battle at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolfpack will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58.89 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
