Softball Recap: Oregon City Takes a Loss

Oregon City was the 3-1 winner over McMinnville when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pioneers took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grizzlies on Wednesday. Pioneers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Grizzlies since on Wednesday.

Maggie Schneider was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Dixie Pokladnik, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Oregon City has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for McMinnville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Oregon City has already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against Glencoe on the 4th. As for McMinnville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-2 victory against Lakeridge on the 4th.
