King's Academy took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Valley Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Warriors on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Knights sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Katia Nesper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mia Bennette was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.

King's Academy pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Valley Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-6.

King's Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-5 victory against Aragon on the 13th. As for Valley Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 9-2 win against St. Ignatius College Preparatory on the 14th.
