Basketball Game Preview: Desert Ridge Jaguars vs. Higley Knights

The Desert Ridge Jaguars will square off against the Higley Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Desert Ridge is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since December 10, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Red Mountain, falling 56-32. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Mountain Lions are ranked 34th).

Meanwhile, Higley lost 65-45 to Highland on Tuesday. The game marked the Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Higley's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4. As for Desert Ridge, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-8.
