Baseball Recap: Great Crossing Comes Up Short

If Great Crossing was riding high fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Payton College Prep last Sunday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Great Crossing fell just short of the Montini Catholic Broncos by a score of 6-5 on Wednesday.

Great Crossing saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brenton Alcorn, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Alcorn's first of the season. Another was Caden Howland, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Great Crossing's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Montini Catholic, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.

Coming up, Great Crossing will be playing in front of their home fans against Tates Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Montini Catholic, they will face off against Greenup County at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
