Softball Preview: Caldera vs. Summit Storm
Caldera will take on the Summit Storm at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Caldera is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
Caldera gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Redmond with a sharp 15-5 victory. Caldera hasn't had any issues with Redmond recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Nina Santos Wagner spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Caldera got a massive performance out of Morgan Voll, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those two triples gave Voll a new career-high. Analeigh Miller was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs.
Caldera always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Summit lost 16-2 to Bend on Tuesday.
Summit has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6-1 record this season. As for Caldera, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
