Jeannette won the last time they faced Riverview and Kymon'E Brown did his part to make sure it happened again. The Jeannette Jayhawks took down the Riverview Raiders 34-20 on Saturday thanks in part to Brown, who rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.
Brown was just one part of a punishing run game: Jeannette was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 239 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September.
Despite the loss, Riverview still got an impressive performance from Alex Schultheis, who rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 85 receiving yards. Rio Stotts was another key player, gaining 96 total yards and a touchdown.
The victory was the third in a row for Jeannette, bringing their record for this year to 7-3. As for Riverview, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Jeannette will challenge Neshannock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neshannock is coming into the game with four straight wins at home, so Jeannette will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Riverview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
