Basketball Recap: Aisea Lee's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Corvian Community over Olympic

Corvian Community extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 70-66 heartbreaker at the hands of the Olympic Trojans. Even though they lost, the Cardinals' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 52.5 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Corvian Community's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aisea Lee, who shot 63% from the field to rack up 14 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Edwards, who went 8-for-19 on his way to 23 points.

Olympic's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. The victory continues a trend for them in their matchups with Corvian Community: they've now won three in a row.

Jaden Hardnett produced another solid performance putting up 27 points along with seven boards and three steals. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least 16 points. Glance Ross was another key player, shooting 47% from the field en route to 20 points and eight rebounds.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Corvian Community will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lincoln Charter at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th. As for Olympic, they will challenge Butler at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
