Basketball Recap: Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

If Brevard HEAT wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Michael Barna. The Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Patriots came out on top against the Brevard HEAT Firehawks by a score of 58-46 on Thursday thanks in part to Barna, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2023.

Despite the defeat, Brevard HEAT had strong showings from Riley Ellis, who went 9 of 20 en route to 22 points, and Aydin Younger, who posted 12 points. Elias Ojala was another key player, putting up four points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.

The win snapped Pineapple Cove Classical Academy's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-7 record. As for Brevard HEAT, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-12.

Pineapple Cove Classical Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Babcock at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Babcock will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Pineapple Cove Classical Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Brevard HEAT, they are on the road again on Friday to play Burns Sci-Tech at 1:00 p.m. Brevard HEAT is facing Burns Sci-Tech at the right time seeing as Burns Sci-Tech is stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
