The Orem Tigers will take on the Taylorsville Warriors in a tournament on Saturday. Orem is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Orem challenged Richfield on Friday. Orem blew past Richfield 14-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Orem got a massive performance out of Hannah Maylett, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Groneman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Orem was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Taylorsville lost 14-3 to Duchesne on Friday.

Taylorsville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Megan Sterzer, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Karli Brown also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Orem's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Taylorsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Taylorsville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Orem hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. It's a different story for Taylorsville, though, as they've only averaged .244. Will they be able to contain Orem's hitters?
