Softball Game Preview: Carrollwood Day Patriots vs. Boca Ciega Pirates

The Carrollwood Day Patriots will face off against the Boca Ciega Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carrollwood Day hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

On Tuesday, Carrollwood Day didn't have quite enough to beat Saint Stephen's Episcopal and fell 2-1.

Carrollwood Day saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Prieto, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Boca Ciega hadn't done well against St. Petersburg recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Boca Ciega walked away with an 18-15 victory over St. Petersburg. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Lexi Bordeaux was a standout: she scored two runs while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Giavanni D'Amico was another key player, going 2-for-4 with five RBI and two runs.

Boca Ciega now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Carrollwood Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
