Softball Recap: Junction City Comes Up Short

Junction City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hampton Bulldogs. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Junction City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Azaria Miner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Junction City's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Hampton, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

Junction City has already played their next game (against Rison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Hampton, they will take on Woodlawn at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
