Basketball Game Preview: Middle Creek Mustangs vs. Cary Imps

The Middle Creek Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Cary Imps at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Middle Creek will be strutting in after a win while Cary will be coming in after a defeat.

Middle Creek is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Nash Central on Saturday. Middle Creek slipped by Nash Central 49-48.

Alysia Pergerson was her usual excellent self, going 12 for 23 on her way to 32 points and four steals. Those 32 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Grace Furst, who posted four points in addition to eight boards and six steals.

Meanwhile, Cary was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap two weeks ago as they fell 40-34 to Franklinton. The Imps have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cary now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Middle Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.

Middle Creek was able to grind out a solid win over Cary in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 44-35. Does Middle Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cary turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
