Baseball Recap: Sterling Find Success

Sterling got themselves on the board against Davenport North on Wednesday, but Davenport North never followed suit. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 4-0.

Not much got past Eli Penne, who gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Davenport North off the board. Penne also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sterling is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-19 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Sterling saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Nettleton, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Sterling's win bumped their record up to 13-20.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sterling will challenge Dixon at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Davenport North, they will head out to challenge Hempstead at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
