Basketball Game Preview: Sacred Heart Academy vs. North Haven Nighthawks

Sacred Heart Academy is on a four-game streak of home wins, while North Haven is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Sacred Heart Academy will welcome the North Haven Nighthawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are at an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2015, but likely not for long.

Sacred Heart Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: Sheehan, who was ranked 11th at the time (Sacred Heart Academy was ranked first). Sacred Heart Academy had just enough and edged Sheehan out 48-45. The 48-point effort marked Sacred Heart Academy's lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Haven). They took down West Haven 66-49 on Tuesday.

Sacred Heart Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for North Haven, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Sacred Heart Academy took their victory against North Haven in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 73-49. Will Sacred Heart Academy repeat their success, or does North Haven have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
