Volleyball Recap: Homewood-Flossmoor Comes Up Short

Homewood-Flossmoor was the 2-1 winner over Lincoln-Way East when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings fell just short of the Griffins by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Homewood-Flossmoor sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-20.

Leading Lincoln-Way East to victory were Madan Sundaram and Will Hubatch. Sundaram had 18 digs and two assists, while Hubatch had 18 assists. Those 18 digs gave Sundaram a new career-high.

Homewood-Flossmoor's defeat dropped their record down to 23-8. As for Lincoln-Way East, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season.

Homewood-Flossmoor will challenge Argo at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Argonauts will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lincoln-Way East, they will square off against Wheaton-Warrenville South at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
