Oxford has gone 8-2 against Hernando recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Oxford Chargers will host the Hernando Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Oxford knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 games -- so hopefully Hernando likes a good challenge.

Oxford saw some tournament action on Monday. They took a 69-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Albertville.

Meanwhile, Hernando was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 54-44 to New Albany. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 56th).

Oxford has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points per game. As for Hernando, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Everything came up roses for Oxford against Hernando when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured an 85-53 win. Will Oxford repeat their success, or does Hernando have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
