Soccer Recap: Loudoun Valley Comes Up Short

Loudoun Valley managed to keep up with Dominion until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Vikings lost 5-2 to the Titans. While losing is never fun, Loudoun Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Dominion are ranked 79th).

Loudoun Valley has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-6-2 record this season. As for Dominion, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Loudoun Valley will face off against rival Rock Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Dominion is set to challenge their familiar foe Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
