Basketball Recap: Wahlert Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Wahlert and Linn-Mar had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Golden Eagles took a 52-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.

Wahlert's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Linn-Mar, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Wahlert will challenge rival Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Linn-Mar is set to square off against their familiar foe Waterloo West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
