Basketball Recap: Morgan Takes a Loss

Morgan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by the Milford Bulldogs 61-10. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1549th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 665th).

Jaycee Rigsby was her usual excellent self, putting up 21 points along with six steals and five rebounds for Milford. That's the most steals Rigsby has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Amiya Smith, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Morgan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Milford, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morgan will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bynum at 5:00 p.m. on January 31st. Milford has already played their next game (against Avalon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
