Volleyball Recap: Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds vs. Springfield Tigers
Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Springfield Tigers. If the Thunderbirds were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Tigers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 24-26, 25-18, 25-13.
Springfield can attribute much of their success to Jada Reese, who had 17 digs and two assists. That's the most assists Reese has posted over her last six contests.
Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13-1. As for Springfield, their victory ended an 11-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-13.

The Thunderbirds (ranked 365th) will meet Windom (ranked 66th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Springfield will square off against Central Minnesota Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (330 vs. 52).
