Softball Game Preview: Temecula Valley Golden Bears vs. Heritage Patriots

The Temecula Valley Golden Bears are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will take on the Heritage Patriots at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Temecula Valley, who comes in off a win.

Temecula Valley is headed out to face Heritage after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Temecula Valley's pitchers stepped up to hand Temecula Prep an 18-0 shutout on Wednesday.

Charlee Carrillo looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk).

At the plate, Avery DePauw was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Samantha Light was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Temecula Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .730. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Temecula Prep only posted an OBP of .167.

Meanwhile, Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 24-0 to Corona.

Heritage saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Martens, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
