Clairemont and Santana are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Chieftains will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Sultans at 4:00 p.m. Clairemont is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Clairemont took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Academy of Our Lady of Peace 4-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Chieftains as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Maelea Silao was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Justice Reese also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Santana didn't have quite enough to beat Granite Hills on Thursday and fell 4-3.

Emma Schneider was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Santana's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Clairemont, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Clairemont has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Santana struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
