Football Game Preview: Honey Grove Warriors vs. Pewitt Brahmas

The Honey Grove Warriors will challenge the Pewitt Brahmas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Honey Grove comes in on six and Pewitt on three.

On Friday, Honey Grove beat Cooper 35-22.

Ryelan Morris continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 269 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.8 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 61 yards. Another rusher making a difference was Tre'Lyn Bailey, who gained 96 total yards and a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Honey Grove was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 405 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Pewitt blew past Alba-Golden, posting a 45-12 win. The result was nothing new for the Brahmas, who have now won five contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Pewitt's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Honey Grove, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Everything went Honey Grove's way against Pewitt in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as Honey Grove made off with a 42-18 victory. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Brahmas have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
