Baseball Recap: East Side Comes Up Short

East Side lost against Payne Tech back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Red Raiders came up short against the Lions, falling 9-2. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

East Side saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jhoan Ventura, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

East Side's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Payne Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Side will host Newark Central at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The Red Raiders are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Payne Tech, they will square off against Tech at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
