Soccer Game Preview: Evans vs. Greenbrier

Evans hasn't had much luck against Greenbrier recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Evans Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Greenbrier Wolfpack at 5:30 p.m.

Evans is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Effingham County on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Rebels. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Knights came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Rebels are ranked 234th).

Meanwhile, Greenbrier narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Lakeside 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Wolfpack in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.

Ella Davis and Natalie Heckathorn scored both of Greenbrier's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

Evans' defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Greenbrier, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
