Softball Recap: Ozark Comes Up Short

Ozark had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 9-9 to make it four. They lost 8-0 to the Pottsville Apaches. The Hillbillies were not able to make up for their defeat to the Apaches from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Pottsville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The result was nothing new for Pottsville, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Pottsville's part, the team relied heavily on Jessica Atkins, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavreen Sarai, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

While Ozark had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
