Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Sawyer Holstine and Danny Wrzensinski Lead Nazareth Academy to Victory

Nazareth Academy waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 64-48 win over the Providence Catholic Celtics. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Roadrunners also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2020.

Leading Nazareth Academy to victory were Danny Wrzensinski and Sawyer Holstine. Wrzensinski went 5 for 11 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds, while Holstine went 6 of 9 on his way to 15 points. The dominant performance gave Holstine a new career-high in points. Rasim Johnson was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points.

Nazareth Academy pushed their record up to 7-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Providence Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

Nazareth Academy will head out to face off against Saint Viator at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Providence Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against IC Catholic Prep at 7:00 p.m. IC Catholic Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Providence Catholic likes a good challenge.
