Baseball Recap: Burke Comes Up Short

If Burke was feeling good fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Bellevue East on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs lost 9-2 to the Kearney Bearcats on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Burke saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Foster, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Burke's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Kearney, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-14.

As of now, neither Burke nor the Bearcats have any future games scheduled.
