Basketball Recap: Central Florida Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Central Florida Christian Academy was the 64-62 winner over Chaminade-Madonna when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Central Florida Christian Academy Eagles fell to the Chaminade-Madonna Lions 70-65. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Lions are ranked 35th).

Jasen Lopez was his usual excellent self, putting up 26 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals for Chaminade-Madonna. Lopez has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaac Mothersill, who posted 15 points and four steals.

Central Florida Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-7 record this season. As for Chaminade-Madonna, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-4.

Central Florida Christian Academy has already played their next match, an 80-61 loss against Coral Springs on the 25th. As for Chaminade-Madonna, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-47 win against Dr. Joaquin Garcia on the 25th.
