Football Game Preview: Southport Cardinals vs. Terre Haute South Vigo Braves

The Southport Cardinals are taking a road trip to challenge the Terre Haute South Vigo Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Southport lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Terre Haute North Vigo, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. Meanwhile, Terre Haute South Vigo took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 34-7 victory over McCutcheon. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 23 points or more this season.

Terre Haute South Vigo pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points on average over those games. As for Southport, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Southport suffered a grim 30-6 defeat to Terre Haute South Vigo in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Cardinals, Brady Wilson (who threw for 115 yards and three touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
