Dawson Smith posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Friday. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
