Baseball Recap: Jeffersonville Drops Highest Score of Season Against Oldham County

Jeffersonville's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Oldham County Colonels by a score of 8-4. The Red Devils' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Carter Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Jeffersonville let Braylen Gray and Aidan Toler run wild. Gray scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Toler scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Jeffersonville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oldham County only posted a batting average of .125.

The victory got Jeffersonville back to even at 2-2. As for Oldham County, they dropped their record down to 7-8-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jeffersonville will welcome Columbus East at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Olympians have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Oldham County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Shelby County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
