Basketball Game Preview: Conestoga Pioneers vs. Marple Newtown Fightin' Tigers

The Conestoga Pioneers are taking a road trip to square off against the Marple Newtown Fightin' Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Conestoga took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 69-44 margin over Harriton. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Pioneers have posted against the Rams since December 22, 2016.

Meanwhile, Marple Newtown was able to grind out a solid win over Ridley on Tuesday, taking the game 51-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Fightin' Tigers.

Marple Newtown is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Conestoga, their record is now 11-3.

Conestoga couldn't quite finish off Marple Newtown in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 and fell 45-43. Can Conestoga avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
