Mauldin and Woodmont are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Mavericks are taking a road trip to square off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mauldin is looking for their season's first win.

Last Wednesday, Mauldin came up short against Wade Hampton and fell 9-6.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodmont). They put the hurt on Greenwood with a sharp 18-2 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Mauldin's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Woodmont, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

Mauldin might still be hurting after the 15-2 defeat they got from Woodmont when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Mavericks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
