Basketball Game Preview: Marais des Cygnes Valley Trojans vs. Olpe Eagles

Marais des Cygnes Valley is 0-10 against Olpe since January of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Marais des Cygnes Valley Trojans will head out to take on the Olpe Eagles at 8:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Marais des Cygnes Valley lost to Waverly at home by a 68-51 margin.

Meanwhile, Olpe had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They breezed by the Jaguars to the tune of 64-32. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Jaguars are ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Olpe pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Marais des Cygnes Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Marais des Cygnes Valley was dealt a bruising 80-31 defeat at the hands of Olpe in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Marais des Cygnes Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
