Football Game Preview: Spring Valley Grizzlies vs. Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars + How To Watch

The Spring Valley Grizzlies will square off against the Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Spring Valley has three straight wins, Pinecrest Academy Cadence has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Spring Valley will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Sierra Vista, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. The Grizzlies walked away with a 14-7 victory over the Mountain Lions on Friday. The game was the first time the Grizzlies have beaten the Mountain Lions on their field since November 1, 2019.

The critical scores for Spring Valley came from King Kahalewai and D'Terrion Richardson.

Spring Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Kahalewai. Another thorn in Sierra Vista's side was Lito Olivas, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 12 total tackles.

Meanwhile, Pinecrest Academy Cadence played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Chaparral 48-20. The Cougars were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Spring Valley will have to contain Kellon Trubey as he made an impact in Pinecrest Academy Cadence's last game. He rushed for eight yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 117 yards on seven of 19 attempts.

Spring Valley's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
