Dowling Catholic is 8-2 against Urbandale since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Dowling Catholic Maroons will look to defend their home court against the Urbandale J-Hawks at 7:45 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dowling Catholic has three straight wins, Urbandale has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Monday, everything went Dowling Catholic's way against Southeast Polk as Dowling Catholic made off with a 64-44 victory.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 82-40, which was the final score in Urbandale's tilt against Northwest on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the J-Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Wolves are ranked 28th).

Dowling Catholic pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Urbandale, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Dowling Catholic didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Urbandale when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 69-64 victory.
