Soccer Recap: Cordova Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Memphis Central, Cordova was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Raleigh-Egypt Pharaohs a 9-0 shutout. Considering Cordova's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Cordova's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Raleigh-Egypt, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Cordova will be playing in front of their home fans against Wooddale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wooddale will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Cordova surely won't give up without a fight. As for Raleigh-Egypt, they will welcome Craigmont at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
