Basketball Recap: Scholars Guild Academy Spartans vs. Georgia Force Christian Blue Knights
Scholars Guild Academy played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Georgia Force Christian Blue Knights, falling 104-76. The Spartans were down 77-53 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elijah Mcilvain, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Henry Rumble was another key player, putting up 17 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards.
Carter McCarn was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 38 points and 12 rebounds for Georgia Force Christian. McCarn's evening made it 19 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Britt, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 assists.
Scholars Guild Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Georgia Force Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Scholars Guild Academy will take on Providence Classical Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Georgia Force Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 90-74 win against HALO on the 17th.
