Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Indian Takes Down Tohatchi in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Santa Fe Indian had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They walked away with a 52-45 victory over the Tohatchi Cougars. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Braves also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2019.

Tohatchi's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Dawes, who posted 13 points. Adriano Begay was another key player, putting up 12 points.

The win made it two in a row for Santa Fe Indian and bumps their season record up to 19-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points over those games. As for Tohatchi, their loss dropped their record down to 25-4.

Santa Fe Indian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-35 defeat against Robertson on the 14th. Tohatchi does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
