Baseball Recap: Cimarron-Memorial Wins Going Away Against Pinecrest Academy Cadence

Cimarron-Memorial won the last time they faced Pinecrest Academy Cadence and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Cougars. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Jonathan Santacruz looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gauge Elder was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Cimarron-Memorial's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 0-13 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Galindo, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
