Recap: Rockwall-Heath Hawks vs. Heritage Coyotes
The Rockwall-Heath Hawks had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Heritage by a score of 52-41. Given Rockwall-Heath's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Heritage is ranked 375th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Heritage saw an underclassman step up: Jadyn Middleton scored 14 points. Middleton scored a full 34.1% of Heritage's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Daniya Souter, who scored 9 points.
Rockwall-Heath's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Heritage, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rockwall-Heath will take on Rockwall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rockwall is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Heritage will be home for the holidays to greet Independence at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
