Basketball Recap: Doddridge County Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Doddridge County extended their home winning streak to ten games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Jerod Trent. The Doddridge County Bulldogs came out on top against the Ritchie County Rebels by a score of 63-50 on Thursday thanks in part to Trent, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 19 points along with five assists and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played.

Landon Thomas was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Ritchie County lost, don't look at Isaac Hodges. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Seth Cronin, who posted six points in addition to six boards and four blocks.

Doddridge County's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Ritchie County, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.

Doddridge County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 73-54 defeat against Braxton County on the 31st. Ritchie County has also already played their next contest, a 61-46 victory against Tyler on the 1st.
