Baseball Recap: Timpview Takes a Loss

Timpview lost against Payson back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Timpview Thunderbirds wound up with the same score they had in their last game (9-8), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Even though they lost, their still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.5 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Will Cannon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three doubles, and four RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Jordan Christensen was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Even though they lost, Timpview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Timpview's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Payson, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Timpview will head out to challenge Granger at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Timpview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Payson, they will take on West Field at 8:00 a.m. on Friday.
