It's playoff time, and East Bernard had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls 5-4. For the Brahmas, this counts as revenge for the 14-4 victory the Fighting Owls walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2021.

Max Mangum spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ty Grigar and Jackson Garvel did most of the damage at the plate: Grigar went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Garvel went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

East Bernard moved to 25-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Anderson-Shiro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-10 record this season.

East Bernard will have a chance to go back-to-back against Anderson-Shiro: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
