With a playoff win on the line, South Dade rose to the challenge on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Palmetto Panthers, sneaking past 4-2. The Buccaneers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

South Dade got a great performance from Angel Ayala as he struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Ayala is becoming a predictor of the Buccaneers' success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 5-1 (and 9-11 when he doesn't).
