Basketball Game Preview: Crete Cardinals vs. Blair Bears

The Crete Cardinals will face off against the Blair Bears at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Crete is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering York just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a hard 61-42 fall against the Dukes. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Dukes are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Blair hadn't done well against Norris recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Blair skirted past Norris 44-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bears have posted against the Titans since December 14, 2019.

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Addie Sullivan and Ize Tidball. Sullivan had a solid game and posted 11 points. Meanwhile, Tidball did her best for the losing side, putting up ten points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

The win made it two in a row for Blair and bumps their season record up to 7-5. As for Crete, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Crete ended up a good deal behind Blair when the teams last played back in February of 2024, losing 61-47. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Sullivan, who put up 22 points.
